CENTRE AND EDGE REFERENCE
IN TECHNICAL FABRIC LINES
In technical fabrics, symmetry matters as much as edge position. If the centre axis is lost, the product ends up off-centre even when both edges are correct. ServoMotion positions the two edge lines according to the recipe while keeping the centre reference fixed and visible throughout production.

ON THE LINE
DO THESE
SOUND FAMILIAR?
Even when the edges are measured correctly, the centre drifts, and the symmetry error appears at the next process stage.
At widths approaching two and a half metres, tape measurement is slow and difficult to repeat.
On napped or dark fabric, a weak line cannot be read and the operator has to walk up close.
When the product group changes, both edge and centre have to be set again, stacking two operations on top of each other.
WHAT WE MEASURE ON SITE
PARAMETERS THAT
DEFINE THE SYSTEM
The parameters below drive the design decisions in this segment. We measure these values on your line and base the quotation on that data.
| Fabric width range | The difference between the narrowest and widest recipe determines travel range and housing length. |
|---|---|
| Centre reference | Whether the symmetry axis must remain visible continuously determines the channel configuration. |
| Surface texture and colour | Napped, textured or dark surfaces affect laser colour and optical power. |
| Working distance | Mounting height increases on wide lines, and angular tolerance is calculated accordingly. |
| Ambient lighting | Overhead lighting directly affects line legibility. |
| Support structure | Over a long travel range, traverse rigidity translates directly into accuracy. |

MOST APPLICATIONS
CORE PRECISOR
In technical fabric applications, the number of simultaneous reference lines is limited. A dual-channel configuration positions the two edges independently, while a fixed centre reference on a separate bracket keeps the symmetry axis visible throughout production.

SHUTTLE PRECISOR
If many cutting or stitching references have to be visible on the fabric at the same time, the shuttle architecture takes over.

CORE PRECISOR · K4 DUAL CHANNEL · 2,400 MM TRAVEL
Two independent motion channels plus a fixed centre reference on a separate bracket. On a wide line, both edges are positioned simultaneously while the centre line stays visible throughout production. These figures come from one example installation; the dimensions for your line are determined during the site survey.
